Scoop On Zulu Mkhathini: “I Feel Like He Could’ve Milked The Game For So Much”
Scoop On Zulu Mkhathini: “I Feel Like He Could’ve Milked The Game For So Much”. Scoop is one of the most influential non rapping voices in South Africa. When he does give his opinion on various topics in the SA Hip Hop industry that leave some fans of the industry confused about his views and leaving them questioning him but he always stands firm in what he says.
On the most recent episode of the POPcast, Scoop, Ms Cosmo and their special guest Zandile Gxono got into a number of topics, including A-Reece’s sample breakdown with Tracklib, and they also rated new music that came out, rating it ‘Flamin’ Hot’ or ‘Flamin’ Not’.
One of the new tracks they reviewed was Zulu Mkhathini‘s new single Sho Case from his upcoming album, Spirit of Ubuntu. Scoop mentioned that he is the hardest on people who he’s known the longest and expressed that Zulu Mkhathini‘s solo come back should’ve included a narrative in the form of documentary to explain what happened between during his time away from music.
“This is my take on it and I just feel like… This n*gga looks good, he could’ve modelled. Dash could’ve gotten a stylist easy, slap into GQ magazine. So there are so many opportunities that I will be honest, I am so mad at Dash about because he can also present. He can speak, he’s knowledgeable. He knows his language. I really, really am upset because I feel like he could’ve milked the game for so much and still just only attacking music I feel like he still hasn’t gotten it yet because there are so many avenues where he could’ve f*cked the game up, and he’s still thinking just music.“
Ms Cosmo mentioned that his journey will possibly be detailed in the album and she rated the song a ‘Flamin Hot’ even though she thought the chorus was slightly weak.
