“I’m Equally Torn,” Cassper Speaks Out On Looting And What’s Happening In The Country

“I’m Equally Torn,” Cassper Speaks Out On Looting And What’s Happening In The Country! Earlier this week Cassper responded to a fan who asked him why he wasn’t speaking up on current affairs saying it was because of the criticism and being told to stay in his lane that made him keep quiet. But the rapper has since changed his mind choosing to speak up and share his thoughts.

In a lengthy post shared on his social media, Cassper shared his thoughts on looting, the leaders’ reaction to the unrests and people passing judgement. Usually i would refrain from commenting cause of the backlash that we receive when we share our opinions. Everytime I’ve tried voicing something on public it’s met with insults or being ridiculed, I was going to shut up and sell my cheap sneakers but what good would it be to have such a powerful voice if i can’t use it? I need to pick my words carefully because this situation is so sensitive,” Cassper began.

The Siyathandana rapper believes what’s currently happening has been brewing for a long time and South Ah has been a ticking time bomb. He shared how it’s easy for people including himself to pass judgement from their comfortable homes about how people who are angry & less fortunate should behave, calling it “utterly ridiculous” and because of that he won’t judge anyone.

“I am totally against looting, however I’m equally torn by our people’s lack & suffering. More than anything I fear for their lives, reports say 72 people have already lost their lives and that is 72 too many especially with a disease like Covid 19 that spreads through human contact amongst other ways. I fear for what’s gonna happen over the next few weeks. Too many lives have already been lost, we plead for our president to show real leadership! Stand firm & show care for His nation.. not just iPad speeches on TV,” Cassper said.

Cassper said whilst he doesn’t have the solutions he believes a country cannot be run from the TV and our leaders need to be on the ground connecting with people the same way they do during election campaigns. “Show some compassion & reach to same celebs you use for elections to help, myself included,” he concluded.
