Tshego Gives Fans Something To Hold On To As They Wait For The Album

Tshego Gives Fans Something To Hold On To As They Wait For Album. Rapper Tshego has finally dropped his latest project an EP, titled ‘3 Piece’ which has been spotlighted on Apple Music’s Africa Now Radio. The EP is a teaser for the Hennessy hitmaker, highly-anticipated sophomore album.

In 2019, Tshego dropped his banger of an album, ‘Pink Panther’ and since then fans have been waiting patiently for a follow-up album. “Please hold these on Friday while I finish the album,” Tshego shared with his fans and followers on social media. Whilst fans are delighted over the three new tracks, they are still begging for more. On Twitter, @Great_Selani let the rapper know exactly how he felt about the three tracks, “Tshego No! Its unfair… Just 3 songs mjita! ??”

‘3 Piece’ features some of Mzansi’s hottest artists such as Flvme, Blxckie, and Shekhinah. The EP was meant to be released a bit earlier but had to be delayed as the rapper temporarily took a step back from the music game, due to personal reasons, as he had lost his mother.

Ahead of the EP’s release, Tshego released a single ‘My Favourite Song’ featuring award-winning Shekhinah, from the project. ‘My Favourite Song’ can be described as a trap R&B record, with verses about working on a relationship while dealing with personal vices and demons. “I like pain, and my tattoos state it,” Tshego says. The track has already reached notable success, with the single peaking at no 19 on the SA radio monitor before the official release. The rest of the tracks on the EP explore the dynamics of relationships. On ‘New’, Tshego and new kids on the block Flame and Blxckie rap about using work, women, and other forms of self-care, such as spending money, to deal with a break-up.

Not only did Tshego release the EP, but he also debuted a self-directed live performance and visualizer, of, ‘Only if you like that’, exclusively on Channel O. ‘Only if you like that,’ is a song about consent, which the rapper made without even knowing. On the track, Tshego clarifies that he is only interested in intimate acts only if the other party is just as interested.

The EP clearly shows that Tshego is growing as an artist and is not scared of exploring different sounds when it comes to his trap R&B sound. A notable takeaway from the EP is the United States-born and South Africa-based hip hop artist, ability to address social issues, such as consent through his lyrics. Tshego’s EP is worth the listen and his fans are more than pleased and cannot wait for that overdue album.
