The friendly match was organised by Big Zulu and Khuzani Mpungose and saw the two music genres hip hop and maskandi battle it out on the field.

The game was live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook, as no spectators were allowed at the stadium, the match was filled with trending moments, that kept those who tuned in entertained. Hip Hop took home the trophy after winning on penalties, with a score of 4-3. The trophy for the match was sponsored by rapper JR.

The Hip Hop team consisted of some of the biggest names in South Ah, such as AKA, Riky Rick, Sjava, Blxckie, Sho Madjozi, Donald and Sjava. The Maskandi team consisited of players P. Manenzhe, Ntencane, Inkosi Yamagcokama, Njoko, Dumakahle, Ngiga, Tshatha, Mzukulu, Umapensela, Ngalo V, and Jaiva Zimnike.

Sho Madjozi coming on the pitch, was quite an entertaining moment, as the commentators had a field day when she came on and could be heard saying “what is going on” “who is this” “is this Sho Madjozi, what does she want here” in Zulu as she got ready to play.

AKA scored a noteworthy penalty, bagging the hip hop team their win. The soccer match was a great way for the musicians to connect, whilst entertaining their fans and judging from the fans reaction this is something they wouldn’t mind seeing more often.
