Lucas Raps Signs To A Major Record Label! Congratulations are in order for rapper LucasRaps as he has bagged himself a record deal with a major label in South Ah hip hop circles. LucasRaps is now a part of the Def Jam Africa family! The rapper is the latest South African hip hop artist to sign to Def Jam Recording Africa since it was launched last year by the Universal Music Group.

LucasRaps joins an already star-studded roster that includes, Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Larry Gaaga, Boity, Nadia Nakai, Tellaman, Tshego, Ricky Tyler and Vector. The rapper announced the good news in a video posted on his social media pages. In the clip, LucasRaps says “I think it’s about time that I tell you guys that I am now a part of the Def Jam Africa family”. From the video, it is easy to tell that the rapper is very excited about joining the label and is ready to take over Africa and the world.

His post on Instagram was filled with messages congratulating him, even Nasty C left a comment showing he is happy about his fellow Durbanite’s win.

Def Jam Recordings Africa took to social media to welcome their latest signee “We Welcome @LucasRaps_SA To The DEF JAM RECORDINGS AFRICA FAMILY” tweeted the label.

Not only has LucasRaps signed to the major label he has shared the news that his project “031 To The World” is available for Pre-order. He has also dropped a new single called Slide. “The day has finally come. I present to you “031 To The World”. I’ve been working this project since 2018. Discarding what I didn’t like, improving on what I did & accommodating the dynamic growth that contributed to the development of my sound. This is only the beginning. The wait was an honest test of faith. To myself & to all my supporters. I appreciate your patience, trust me it’s worth the wait.”
