Reason Reveals His Future With SA Hip Hop. Rapper Reason has gotten candid about his future in SA Hip Hop, the genre he is known for making music in. Reason has taken a hiatus from the genre and has since joined the Yano wave. He recently released his first amapiano song with amapiano song with DJ Maphorisa who is known for creating hit music.
Reason joining the amapiano wave has added fuel to the conversation that hip hop music is not doing well in the country and amapiano is dominating. Cassper Nyovest is also on the Yano wave and has shared that he is enjoying himself on the piano side of life.
The No Sleep hitmaker responded to a tweep and in his response made fans aware of his future in South African hip hop. Reason shared on retweeted a video of Priddy Ugly rapping and wrote “Hip hop is in good hands”, a fan then told the rapper “But we still need you back bro”, indicating that fan would still like to see more of Reason in the hip hop movement. In his response, he revealed that he “ain’t left” he further explained that he is “just having fun with the music”.
Whilst Reason may not be releasing any hip hop tracks, he is still putting his pen skills to use. The rapper recently responded to claims that he ghostwrote DJ Maphorisa’s viral verse on the track, Izolo, Reason shared on Twitter that he doesn’t ghostwrite, he co-writes.
The Mzansi rapper is currently riding the amapiano wave and has released music under the name Sizwe Alakine. His song Khanda Shisa has been played on several radio stations in the country and has been streamed over 5000 times on Spotify since it was dropped two weeks ago.
Reason worked with DJ Maphorisa on the song and before they released the song, the rapper shared his hopes for the song. Reason had shared that he hoped the song would be his Ngud, in terms of success on the charts and in his career. The track Ngudu by Kwesta featuring Cassper Nyovest is a smash hit record and it was produced by DJ Maphorisa. Ngudu’ is one of Kwesta’s biggest songs and it elevated his career.
