A-Reece Shares His Thoughts On Artists Switch From Hip Hop
A-Reece Shares His Thoughts On Why Artists Are Making The Switch From Hip Hop. Rapper A-Reece is one of the hottest rappers in South Ah. He has become known for his music and not so much for his social media activity. While A-Reece often tries to stay away from the drama on social media, he does pop up here and there to share his 2 cents. It seems A-Reece’s latest tweet is the rapper offering his opinion on one of the hottest topics surrounding the game at the moment, SA Hip Hop artist’s switching to amapiano.
A-Reece mentioned no names in his tweet but fans have put the pieces together in order to try and figure out what the popular rapper is trying to say. In his tweet, A-Reece seems to imply that artists are able to switch to different genres because they don’t view hip hop as a culture but seemingly just a commodity that they can gain from. “They don’t see hip hop as a culture they see it as a commodity,” tweeted A-Reece. His tweet was viewed in different ways by his fans and followers but most noted that the message seemed to be directed at SA Hip Hop artists moving to amapiano.
South Ah Hip Hop artists, such as Cassper Nyovest, Reason and Boity have recently have been dabbling in amapiano music causing quite the roar on the Hip Hop streets. The move by the musician who started off their careers in Hip Hop has been viewed by many as a sign that SA Hip Hop is dying out and no longer relevant. This has been disputed by many artists and is an ongoing discussion. Mufasa who is currently doing well in amapiano music even seemed to have something to say about the “culture”. Cassper tweeted that people would die of hunger for the culture, which has been assumed as a response to what A-Reece had to say. “Le tla shwa ke tlala for the culture. Ni zo Lamba boy!!!” tweeted in part Cassper.
A tweep argued that A-Reece should also join amapiano as that is where the money is currently at. The tweep even said that no one plays Hip Hop anymore and A-Reece songs aren’t trending, meaning they won’t be played. Another tweep spoke about why Hip Hop is not viewed as a culture. The tweep explained that Hip Hop does not originate in South Ah and is American culture. The tweep noted that SA has its own music cultures such as Kwaito, Amapiano and Gqom music. Another tweep however said that artists don’t need to be in the US to join the culture but the strong critic was not buying it.
