AKA Reacts To Having The Most Streamed SA Hip Hop Track Of All Time

AKA Reacts To Having The Most Streamed SA Hip Hop Track Of All Time. Apple Music has caused quite the stir with its recent report of Apple Music Mzansi’s Most Streamed Artists of All-Time, which lists the most streamed music in South Ah since the platform was launched six years ago. As with any list, the SA Hip Hop community had plenty to say about the list. The report was compiled based on streaming numbers specifically on Apple Music and across all genres.

Rapper AKA features on the report on three separate lists. He features on the Most Streamed SA Artists of All Time, Most Streamed SA Albums of All-Time and Most Streamed SA Songs of All Time. While AKA features on 3 sections of the report, it seems he is most pleased with being on Most Streamed SA Songs of All-Time. AKA’s smash hit Fela In Versace featuring Nigeria’s hit producer and artist, Kiddiominant is number 9 on the list and is the only Hip Hop song on the list. This is something Supa Mega is very proud of, especially considering all the negative energy towards SA Hip Hop.

The award-winning artist took to Twitter and shared new facts about his song. “Fela In Versace is the Most Streamed SA Hip Hop record of all time …” tweeted AKA. In his tweet, AKA also added, “Ya but whatevs. Let that slide” which could seemingly be aimed at all those who continue to criticise and forget SA Hip Hop’s achievements. While AKA was trying to be modest with his achievement, some of his fans were ready for the rapper to put his win on a T-shirt. Considering AKA hasn’t had too many wins lately, fans deserve to celebrate.

AKA recently dropped a joint EP with Costa Titch called You’re Welcome. The EP has been well received by fans and singles from the EP have even gone on to top the SA charts. While Mega’s EP with Costa should be all the positive energy, he might need, the rapper did have an awkward moment during a press interview that had him trending for the wrong reasons. During an interview with Thando Thabethe on radio station 947, AKA lost his cool when the questions got personal. The rapper later apologised for his behaviour during the interview and revealed he got triggered.  “It’s unfortunate that I felt triggered by the way she asked her questions and I could have handled it better, after all she’s just doing her job and all that,” wrote AKA in part on Instagram.
