As numerous rappers unleashed tracks and projects that stirred discussions within the industry, a select few consistently stood out as the cream of the crop. During the conversation on Choppin’ It With Bhuda T Podcast, Rashid Kay argued that Blxckie doesn’t deserve a top spot amongst the best SA rappers of 2023.

Rashid expressed his disagreement when Blxckie was expectedly ranked fourth by the fellow panel of Zingah and Farx, and he vehemently rejected the ranking. “Blxckie on number 4 with what? No, name a song that rings the bell, I dont give a f*ck about the run, name a song,” Rashid Kay said as he strongly rejects Blxckie to be ranked high amongst best SA rappers of 2023.

Taking to Twitter (X), Blxckie responded to Rashid’s remarks alleging that the SA Hip Hop OG doesn’t like him because he didn’t show up for the Back To The City Hip Hop concert last year. “khululekani , OG doesn’t like me cause said f*ck indaba yeBTTC 😭😂 . namanje f*ck indaba yayo, naye,” Blxckie said.

From the moment Blxckie impacted the SA hip-hop scene, he has consistently proven himself as a highly decorated rapper, boasting numerous hits, accolades, and brand ambassador deals that underscore his significant influence in the game.

Following his remarkable journey, Somnyama has transcended the boundaries of SA Hip Hop, becoming one of the most sought-after artists in the broader South African music industry. His versatility is evident as he collaborates with artists beyond the rap fraternity, further solidifying his standing in the musical landscape.
