Reason Is Not Here For Fans Who Want Him To Stick To Hip Hop

Rapper Reason is currently showing off his versatility as an artist as he dabbles in the sound of the moment, amapiano music. Reason is having a good time creating amapiano music but it seems the critics are not here for the rapper’s move to the dance genre. Critics will always have something to say when it comes to the hip hop game and artists are used to it. Artists often ignore comments on social media from critics but some comments are just too hard to ignore.

A critic who came for the Azania rapper unprovoked got a stinging clapback from the rapper. The critic retweeted a tweet from Reason and told the rapper, he should have stuck to hip hop. “You should’ve stuck to hiphop bro,” wrote the tweep. Reason wasted no time and let the tweep know exactly what he thought about his comment. In his response, Reason let the tweep know that he should have kept his comment to himself. As the saying goes if you have nothing to say rather keep quiet. “You should have kept quiet. You sound narrow minded right now,” Reason wrote.

The tweep saw that Reason was not here for his comment and responded to him and told him that he was not fighting. The tweep in his response explained that Reason is a great hip hop artist and credited him as one the best emcees to come out of South Ah. “Ok cool bro bengingalwi I was just saying you’re a great hiphop artist, one of the best emcees to come out of SA,” tweeted the critic. Whilst the tweep may have had good intentions with his initial tweet, it is clear that perhaps if he had worded it better he may not have received the harsh response from the rapper. Reason is also most likely tired of the conversation that he should have stuck to hip hop music.

Whilst Reason may not be dropping hip hop records at the moment, that does not mean, he has stopped putting in the work when it comes to the genre. The rapper has worked on an album, he previously shared that he is still trying to decide when to drop it as it has been sitting for 6 months. The rapper even teased fans with an image of the tracklist of the unreleased project featuring some serious heavyweight SA Hip Hop talent. Artists such as Sho Madjozi, YoungstaCPT, Boity, Rouge, pH Raw X, Riky Rick, Makwa, Naak Musiq, Nadia Nakai, K.O, Solo Ntsizwa and Marcus Harvey are just some of the names that appeared on the tracklist.
