The Yanos sound has become a global phenomenon with US rappers also considering hopping on the sound. In a viral video, Wiz Khalifa is the latest American rapper who announced that he is on the verge of jumping on the Amapiano sound.

Taking to Instagram, Reason A.K.A Sizwe Alakine shared the video of the US rapper stating that fans should expect his new sound next year. “Y’all gonna get some Piano songs from me, probably next year,” said Wiz Khalifa.

Adding to Khalifa’s remarks on his stance on jumping on the Yanos, Sizwe Alakine called out SA rappers to stop their pretence towards the Yanos. This came after most SA rappers have excused themselves from jumping on the Yanos sounds. “SOUTH AFRICAN RAP N**GZ NEEDA QUIT FRONTING ON THE YANOS!” Wrote Reason in response to Wiz Khalifa’s video.

This is not the first time Sizwe Alakine has called SA rappers for their stance on Amapiano. The rapper once came out guns blazing following AKA‘s remarks on Amapiano on the song Lemons Lemonade featuring Nasty C.

“Hearing @akaworldwide say “Thank God they showed they true colours/ Switched up piano like Vultures” is problematic to me. Especially from a hip hop artist saying this on an Afro beat record. Like… who you talking about exactly? Give me examples.” Tweeted Reason.
