Cassper Shares His Thoughts On Why New Wave Rappers Are Winning On The Amapiano Scene

Cassper Shares His Thoughts On Why New Wave Rappers Are Winning On The Amapiano Scene. The rap game is evidently changing and despite resistance from the community, things are happening. More artists are emerging on the music scene and more artists are rapping on Amapiano beats. This is an indication that is possible to have a stellar rap flow but on a dance beat. Artists are making names for themselves as Amapiano artists but they are also impressing the streets with their rap skills. Cassper Nyovest recently took to social media to share his thoughts on the reality that amapiano artists who are killing it are actually rappers and trappers who just choose not to box themselves.

Cassper is one artist who earlier on caught the amapiano wave and found himself rapping on Amapiano beats. While the move at first was criticized more recently more Hip Hop artists have warmed up to the idea. “A Lotta of the Kids who are killing it in the Piano scene are actually rappers & trappers who chose not to box themselves,” wrote Cassper. It is also hard to deny there are certain similarities between the genres and Cassper in his tweet, pointed them out. The award-winning rapper remarked the fashion sense, that amapiano artists have and their names their writing styles are just some indications of the inner rapper and trapper. “You can see it in the fashion sense, you can see it with their names, their writing,” wrote Cassper.

It is unclear, who Cassper was referring to with his tweet but it is worth noting that it was posted on the same day Amapiano act, Young Stunna dropped his album. Young Stunna has become popular on the music scene for his rap flow and was even featured on BET’s controversial Amapiano Hip Hop cypher, alongside rapper Reason. Cassper certainly was not hating on what the new wave rappers are doing and actually commended them for stepping outside the box and exploring their talents. “Those are SA Hip Hop kids who were smart enough to explore their talents,” added Cassper.

Several Twitter users agreed with what Cassper had to say and pointed out how some artists started off in Hip Hop but have gone to make a name for themselves outside of the genre. One such person is Focalistic who is now flying the countries flag high as he takes his sound across the world. President YaStraata has even scored himself a nomination at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards for Best African Act.
