Drake Endorses 19-Year-Old Zimbabwean Artist

Drake Endorses 19-Year-Old Zimbabwean Artist. Imagine having one of the world’s biggest rappers endorse your artwork, well 19-year-old artist Hulio, real name Nyasha Warambwa, doesn’t need to imagine, as this is his actual reality. The artist hails from Zimbabwe and has gotten a co-sign for his artwork from Drake. Yes, that Drake, the Canadian rapper who has become a global superstar. Drake has a new profile picture on his Instagram page, which has 95.1 million followers. The profile picture is an artwork of Drake’s 4-year-old son Adonis, the artwork was done by Hulio himself.

Drake seems to be a big fan of the young artist, as this is not the first time he is putting Hulio’s artwork in the spotlight. Drake in September shared Hulio’s work on his Instagram timeline. The artwork was several figures of Drake through the various phases of his career. It also showed Drake’s past albums, from his start such as Thank Me Later to his latest album Certified Lover Boy. Drake captioned the post, “What’s next?”. Hulio revealed on Twitter that the artwork was done, a year prior to Drake posting it. The young artist reached out to Drake and thanked him for posting his work and Drake ended up tagging him on the post.

It has certainly been going down in the DMs as Drake and Hulio have been talking. When Hulio sent Drake the artwork for his profile picture, the two even had a brief talk about the changes Drake wanted before using the artwork. The recent events in his career have Hulio himself in disbelief. “1 year down the line and the absolute last thing I thought would ever happen for me actually happened. MY WORK ON DRAKES PAGE nahhh major W” wrote the artist in one tweet.

Hulio was also not here for any criticism about Drake not giving him credit for his new profile picture artwork and reminded critics that Drake tagged him not so long ago. “For those saying he should have given me a shout out..literally a few weeks ago Drake changed my life when he posted my work on his page AND TAGGED ME which is something he has never done for another small artist so please understand he did not do anything malicious here lmao,” he wrote. Big things certainly seem to be in store for this young artist’s career, he has already had a billboard of his artwork in New York City’s famous Time Square. Timbaland, Snoop Dogg, 21 Savage, Chris Brown have also endorsed the illustrator’s artwork. Chris Brown has worked with Hulio on the artwork for his Go Crazy remix.
