Pics! K.O Receives Three Platinum Plaques. Rapper K.O certainly had an amazing day on his birthday not only was he showered with praise and affection from his fans and industry mates, but he also received a very special gift. K.O has consistently maintained a successful career and managed to remain relevant despite all the changes he has gone through as an artist. From being a part of Teargas, being a solo artist, to being a record label boss, through it all he has always proved that he is a talented artist as his music speaks for itself.

On his birthday the award-winning rapper, whose real name is Ntokozo Mdluli, was presented with three platinum plaques, by record label Sony Music Africa. Three of the rapper’s singles have been certified platinum, with one even being a double-platinum record. Nothing makes the certification real, like having the plaques and K.O has all three and there are pictures that capture the moment. The award-winning rapper took to social media to share the good news with his followers. The Cashtime Tsotsi for life posted several snaps of himself along with his new plaques.

“How my birthday started today. Thank you @sonymusicafrica. More plaques ? more ?” wrote K.O in his caption. He also revealed which tracks had been certified in his caption. Tracks No Feelings, Supa Dupa have been certified platinum and Call Me has been certified double platinum. Supa Dupa features on the album, PTY UnLTD, which was released in 2019. The track was produced by Gemini Major and Hylton Booker. Call me features Nigerian artist Runtown and was produced by Scales and Glothebeatz, No Feelings was also produced by them. Both singles feature on K.O’s 2017 project, SR2.

K.O has a licensing and distribution deal with Sony Music Africa and the tracks were released under the label, with the first being No Feelings which coincided with him signing to the label. When the deal was announced K.O expressed that, “It’s the beginning of a new beginning”. At the time, Refiloe Ramogase, MD of Sound African Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment Africa, shared, “We are delighted to welcome K.O into the Sony family. We are excited to be working closely with an artist who has been at the forefront of the culture throughout his distinguished career. He enters this new chapter with the hunger of a newcomer and we can’t wait to be part of this new and exciting chapter in his game-changing career!”
