SA Rappers Show Boity Some Love After She Confirmed Physical Assault Incident. Last week a report was published by City Press that rapper, tv personality and entrepreneur Boity Thulo had been involved in an alleged physical encounter with tv and radio personality Bujy Bikwa. The award-winning rapper has since confirmed in a statement released on her social media platforms, that indeed she was a victim of assault. In her statement, Boity did not name her attacker but confirmed that she had opened a case of assault against the culprit.
Boity in her statement has requested space as she tries to heal from the matter, physically and emotionally. “I respectfully request some space as I try to find a way to heal both physically and emotionally from this traumatic experience” read in part the statement. Her post was filled with comments from Boity’s fans and individuals who are part of SA Hip Hop, who showed her love and support following her traumatic experience. Nadia Nakai, Ms Cosmo, Gigi Lamayne and Stogie T are just some of the names who were seen in the comment on Instagram.
Boity in her statement also said, “It is with deep sadness to state that I was indeed an unfortunate victim of a vicious physical assault and that I have since opened a case against the culprit, which I am following with a keen interest. I do not wish to comment on this matter any further (at this time). Boity reportedly had to be rushed to the hospital after the incident. An eyewitness told City Press, that Boity’s white shirt was filled with bloodstains. “Bujy really beat that girl up badly … Boity was wearing a white shirt and her shirt was red with blood stains. Her face was also bad,” said the eyewitness.
Former Metro FM deejay Bujy spent the weekend in jail after his bail application on Friday was postponed at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court. Bujy is alleged to have thrown a bottle of alcohol and cut Boity’s face when an argument took place at a Midrand hotel while hanging out together with friends. “They were drinking and talking about sangomas and ancestors before an argument started. I am not sure who started it but they were screaming at each other and swearing before they started fighting,” an eyewitness told the publication. According to City Press’, Bujy is expected to appear again in court, this Wednesday. “[The case was] postponed to Wednesday. The accused is in custody and was charged with assault, ” National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane told City Press.
