Black Twitter Reacts To JR’s Appointment As A New Idols SA Judge

The reshuffling of Idols SA judges came after M-Net decided not to renew Randall and Unathi’s contracts. Rapper JR will appear as a Judge for the first time on the show. The SA hip hop star has been very influential in the rap game and his background and expertise in the music industry have made him be the perfect candidate for the job.

The executive head of the Idols SA Nomsa Philiso shared her remarks following the appointment of the new panel of judges. She vowed that the program is ready to offer a new look to its viewers and hence the appointment of new judges was a necessary development. “One of the key components in having staying power is evolution, and our new-look panel is part of that,” she said.

The appointment of the SA hip hop artist JR has received mixed reactions from Black Twitter. Despite the rapper having been part of the Class of The Choirs and having his own JR’s Feel Good Session Show, most of SA Idols followers did not agree with his appointment to be the judge on the show.

Most tweeps couldn’t agree more with the rapper’s appointment, given his musical knowledge and experience in the music industry. See some of the reactions below.
