All that is left are memories and those who are left behind can only reflect on the good times they had with the deceased. The passing away of the Award-winning SA hip hop artist Riky Rick has brought about mixed emotions within the SA hip hop space.
Cassper Nyovest and Riky Rick had a long and fruitful relationship, with a long list of collaborations to their credit. Reflecting on all the good memories he had with Boss Zonke, Cassper shared one of his favourite pictures with Riky.
The Doc Shebeleza chanter described the picture revealing that he felt so uncomfortable having another man touching him. He hilariously shared that when Riky crept on him from behind during an interview he wanted to turn and ask who was that behind him.
“This is probably my favorite picture of us. There’s a lil funny story to it. As a man, I am very uncomfortable with another man touching me or worse, being behind me. So when Riky creeped up behind me in the middle of an interview, what I really wanna do is turn around and ask “Which one is this one now” lol…” Wrote Cassper.
Cass further mentioned that when he realised that it was Riky behind him he had to relax as he detailed the love the two rappers shared together in the industry he said; “But when I heard his voice I had to put my guard down and chill cause it was him. I don’t remember what he said in this interview but I know he was showing love like he always would. I’m not ready to let go yet, it’s all still I shock but what I shared with this man was real and we both knew it.”
Riky Rick and Cassper’s relationship turned a corner after the two had a disagreement that led them to spend many years without talking to each other much. Despite this, Riky continued to believe that he acknowledged why Cassper felt compelled to express his feelings towards him in his song, despite the fact that he holds no grudges against Cass.
“I have no beef with anybody. I get people getting out their emotions. My goal is for people to actively try to get into better situations.” Said Riky Rick.
