Cruz Vodka Set The Record Straight After Bottles Released Without AKA’s Signature. AKA has had a lengthy partnership with Cruz Vodka, serving as a brand ambassador and even having two flavors named after him. Now it appears that the label is attempting to deceive him, and fans are furious.

Cruz Vodka Set The Record Straight After Bottles Released Without AKA’s Signature

This came after the South African market received watermelon-flavored Cruz Vodka bottles with their standard, generic labeling without the AKA’s signature. This caused a major stir within the fans of AKA who happened to like the alcohol because of the rapper’s influence.

To settle the air, Vodak released a statement on their Twitter account to clarify the situation that has caused the unfortunate events. “Dear Cruz Family- we have noted that generic branded Cruz watermelon bottles have been released into the South African market in error. These bottles were intended to carry the AKA brand name and was not intended for local market sale.

In the same statement, Cruz Vodka further made it clear that AKA is still part of their family and they apologized for the disappointment they have caused to their South African loyal customers. “AKA remains a valuable part of the Cruz family and we are working to resolve. Our apologies for disappointing any of our fans.” Tweeted Cruz Vodka.

Cruz Vodka might have perceived that their apology would be received with both hands, but Black Twitter reacted otherwise. Some of the fans believed that the brand does not care about AKA. This came after one Twitter user asked why AKA’s branded alcohol bottles are not being sold internationally.

What (do) you mean not intended for local sales???? Why can’t @akaworldwide branded bottles be sold internationally??? wrote one Twitter user.

This is not the first time the brand has been in trouble with the AKA fans. The rapper ended his relationship with the brand after his fiancee, Anele “Nellie” Tembe, passed away. Many believed it was due to the unfavorable exposure he was receiving at the time since social media claimed he was responsible for her death. They assumed the brand didn’t want to be linked with him anymore.
