Proverb may have lost touch with his original fan base, but he stayed in touch with his content, which proved his superb mic abilities and dispelled any notions that the Idols role and radio shows had softened him.

Taking to Twitter, Proverb took us down memory lane as he reflected on his radio experience and how he was on the verge of quitting before he recently bagged a new slot at Metro FM. “Fell in love with radio in 2002. Got a job in radio as a technical producer (in) 2003.”

“Landed a graveyard slot in 2007. Did a series of graveyard & weekend at various stations & after my last stint I was ready to quit chasing the dream. After 20 years, God said “We Are Not Done..” Tweeted Proverb. Proverb might now be a full-time TV and radio show host but his contribution to SA hip hop has been impeccable. Proverb will be ready to rock the radio station as he joins Lerato Kganyago on the Midday Link Up.

Not only that he has been brilliant at being a radio show host and TV presenter. The former rapper also released five albums to his name and has labeled himself an OG in the game during the time he had an interview with TshisaLIVE. “I’m an OG in the game, even though I’m only 33 years old,” he said.
