However, the internet has opened up new avenues for unpleasant emotions that were not conceivable until memes and trolls were transmitted to social media. Twitter has become a hub of cyberbullying and abuse and most people have become victims.
Nasty C has become one of the few South African rappers to speak out against Twitter and how users are giving the social media platform too much influence over real-life concerns. He urged his admirers to stop complaining about people’s behavior on Twitter and to remove the app because it isn’t the ideal place to gather love and support.
“Don’t spend all day on Twitter complaining about people on Twitter. Just leave. Delete it. It really is that simple. Post your links if you must but don’t stay here. If you’re looking for love/ kindness/ support/ understanding/ solution, you won’t find it here” Tweeted Nasty C.
In the same Twitter thread, Nasty C further expressed that people are giving too much power to the App and it’s high time people make a difference by leaving Twitter. “We’re giving this app way too much power & control over our real lives. I promise you if we all just left, it would be a huuuge step in the right direction. It’s just another version of hell.. that’s in your phone.” He added.
Many people are wondering if the Juice Back singer is thinking about deactivating his Twitter account. This happened after he said in his last thread that if his admirers are content with the trolls that come with the App, then that’s where they belong and that those who want to start loving themselves should quit.
“If you wanna be picked apart, judged, hated, dragged, mislead etc.. you’re in the right place. Get comfy. this is your home. If you love yourself or want to start loving yourself, leave. It really is that simple. Have a good one ??,” he concluded.
As if that wasn’t enough, Nasty also posted a screenshot of the above Twitter threads to Instagram. The rapper pleaded with his fans to abandon Twitter if they can, citing their health and social well-being as reasons.
“If you’re a fan of mine, out of my love for you & my concern for your health, I’m begging you to leave that app ??????.” Wrote Nasty C.
