SA artists have been left dry during the COVID-19 lockdown and hearing their minister not prioritizing their pleas came as a slap on the face. Taking to Twitter, Priddy Ugly emerged as the only rapper who weighed in on Minister Mthethwa’s 22-Million Flag Monument.

The rapper expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s misplaced priorities as many things are in line to be fixed in the country. The flag monument is the least of their problems right now. “Yessis, Embarrassing! We barely have electricity as it is, yet you thinking about an illuminated flag? South Africans, your “leaders” clearly think that you’re stupid & they don’t care about your suffering or the future of our children & this nation. Appalling!” Tweeted Priddy Ugly.

Priddy Ugly went on to say that there is no basis for the country to invest R22 million on a monument that will not generate revenue like the Eiffel Tower. The rapper expressed that South Africa is nowhere near 1st world country and should not be compared with countries in the first world and first continent.

Justifying SA spending R22 Mill on a Flag by saying New York has the Statue of Liberty & Paris has the Eiffel tower is ridiculous – structures people can visit, & travel to the top of. Can we climb this flag? South Africa is not a 1st world country on a 1st world continent!” Said Priddy Ugly.
