Reason Responds To NOTA’s Claims That Warner Music Artists Have No Success Stories. NOTA has been regarded as an outspoken personality in the SA music fraternity.
Recently, Warner Music filed a defamation lawsuit against NOTA after he made claims that the record label is killing the careers of Mzansi artists.
“If you want to kill your career as a South African or African artist all you need to do is sign with WARNER AFRICA… It’s a declaration of WAR for you to respond the way you did, instead of promoting the artists that have entrusted you with their careers. I have been saying this!“ Tweeted NOTA.
In another tweet, NOTA went on and slammed the record for not investing in their artists but focusing more on PR events that have brought no results. Baloyi further elaborated that there is no artist under Warner Music Africa that has a success story with rapper Reason included on the list.
“Instead of Warner music promoting their artists they spend all their money on PR events that yield nothing. There isn’t a single artist signed to Warner Africa that has a success story to tell. Not Locnville, not Zahara, not Reason, Faith K or Masandi but DJ Sbu is the bad guy?”🧐 Tweeted NOTA.
Following NOTA‘s claims, Reason was one of the artists signed under Warner Music who came out and defended the decision to sign for the label. The rapper made it known that he wouldn’t have signed if his project with Warner Music is not going to be a success. He further gave heads up on his upcoming project with the record label.
“You might wanna give it another week or 2 with me Lavida. You know I wouldn’t allow myself to be signed and not be thee success story. There’s no way I’m letting them go not big with Alakine. Neither are they frankly. (#AfterTears dropping soon)” Tweeted Reason.
Reason has signed a recording deal with Warner Music a few months ago and the two parties have promised Mzansi to get ready for hit songs from the After Tears project.
