Flvme Confirms Squashing The Beef With Emtee. Rap and hip-hop artists battle for their honour, but occasionally things get a little catty. These artists rely on their ability to shape and control their image to maintain their fame, which justifies and amps up the acrimony of their brutal hip-hop fighting.
Rappers in South African hip hop have engaged in a number of ongoing feuds, with Cassper Nyovest and AKA’s being the most notable. Emtee and Flvme have also been amongst SA rappers who have been on each other’s throats but taking from Flvme’s latest tweet, it looks like the two rappers have buried the hatchet.
Flvme posted a photo of himself and Emtee on Twitter along with a comment that seems to indicate that their beef has been resolved. “IN THE END, EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER,” tweeted Flvme. The rapper beef started after Emtee tweeted the question; “Who makes better hooks than me?”
His statement triggered a heated discussion on Twitter, with many contrasting Emtee and Flvme’s brilliance and their number-one singles. Flame chose to disparage Emtee’s music career, claiming that his music is better than his. “I don’t have anything against Emtee guys. I’m just saying I don’t believe he’s a better artist than me as much as he believes I’m not,” Flvme tweeted.
Emtee retailed by stating that he does not wish to compete with anyone and instead wishes to compose music and nurture his children. “I asked a simple question. WHO MAKE BETTER HOOKS THAN ME? Never said I’m better than anybody or compared myself to anybody. Yall lil boys carry on competing. I’m making music n raising my kids,” he said.
Ever since this conversation, the two have been not on each other’s paths and they were placed amongst SA rappers who have beefed with each other. Now that the beef has been squashed, should SA hip hop be on the lookout for a collaboration from the two rappers with the best hook in the country?
