Is Jabba A Hypocrite?
Is Jabba a hypocrite for doing what he is dissing? In 2014 we saw HHP who is now known as Jabba releasing a new album which was titled Motswako High School. There is no question that the rapper has several smashing records on the album, but what stood out most for me was the fact that he actually switched up his whole style.
On the album Jabba raps on several different types of beats including a Trap Beats aswell. Jabba recently was in an interview with the African Hip Hop Blog where he talks about how he doesn’t like the Trap music that’s being released because of the content i.e Champagne, bitches, jewellery, cars etc.
Not to say that his point is weak but the Jabbaman needs to understand that Trap is not just a type of Hip Hop but a lifestyle! Real Trappers don’t even drink champagne… they drink lean so clearly the big homie needs to do his education on the topic because most young people in SA don’t even understand the culture.
Jabba also released a couple of Trap records via his Motswako High School album including Pop Mabhodlela where he was rapping about the things he “says” he hates about Trap music. “How many times am I gonna be listening about bitches, at first it was cute but you jut talk about the same shit bitches, champagne, and cars we all know you can’t afford what the fvck is this all about actually, I hate that shit” he said.
