Zola 7 Set To Receive His First Lifetime Achievement Award. The rapper has had a difficult year. In March, Zola 7 gained attention when a video showing him looking frail went viral and people gathered to give the sickly superstar financial assistance. 

Zola 7’s circumstances has prompted key players in the South African music industry to honour his talent and what he has accomplished throughout his career. Mzansi Kwaito House Awards CEO Perfecta Malinga told TshisaLIVE that they have found it necessary to celebrate Zola’s achievements in Kwaito since it is the organisers’ 7th anniversary. Perfecta also revealed that there will be a surprise artist to grace the event who is goin to perfome one of Zola 7’s song as to make it special for him.

“We relate to Zola 7, we all know that the only Kwaito legend that regards to 7 is him and we are celebrating 7 years this year. Besides being handed a trophy, a surprise upcoming artist will sing one of his songs and have him join in the performance on stage.” He said.

The Awards CEO also expressed that the award is all about showing love to the acclaimed rapper and what he has done for the music fraternity. He further stressed that they are looking forward to getting assistance from other well-wishers to make it a big day for Zola 7.

“It’s all about love … we are a non-profit organisation but we don’t want to honour him with just the trophy that we plan to give him, we’re still knocking on doors to see how much more we can give him.” Said Malinga.

The game has shown appreciation for Zola, and he has a strong rapport with the rappers present. Cassper Nyovest received a special surprise cameo from Zola 7 while performing in Rustenberg. It was as though the kwaito mythology had just appeared out of the blue. The crowd went wild when the two started perfoming their song Bonginkosi.
