During the just-ended SAMAs28, SA Hip hop was well presented with the Best Hip Hop Award category up for grabs. The Durban rapper faced competition from his rap peers with the likes of Emtee, A-Reece, Kid X and 25K all up for the prestigious award. Fortunately and unfortunately there could be only one winner and Somnyama walked away as the victor.

Taking to Instagram, Blxckie could not shy away from expressing his excitement after winning his first-ever SAMA. “COME ON!! the boys are happy. ngyabonga kakhulu. we making history la kyanyiwa. MORE!” wrote Blxckie.

The unimaginable has been accomplished by Blxckie as a result of his debut in the SA hip hop scene during the COVID pandemic. The Durban rapper has released massive music projects that have won various honours, including the prestigious South African hip hop award.

During the SAMAs nomination ceremony, Shishiliza was shocked that Blxckie was only nominated in one category for the awards considering how he has been dominating SA music. “Okes said one nomination for Blxckie?? They should be EMBARRASSED… What nonsense is that.” Tweeted Shishiliza.

Shishiliza has worked with Blxckie on quite a number of songs, and he is aware of the Durban rapper’s capabilities when it comes to delivering good sounds. The recent song they worked together on is Sondela which featured various artists including the late Riky Rick.

Blxckie has also featured on K.O’s recent single SETE from his SR3 album along with Young Stunna. The track k has been dominating the music charts since it was released in the past weeks. Not only has he been doing well with collaborations, but the rapper has also promised to release a new music project very soon.
