However, even though the aforementioned rappers have received praises for what they have done with the diss tracks, could there be a backstory that triggered all this euphoria in the SA rap game right now? Taking to Twitter, Cassper Nyovest expressed his excitement about what has been happening in SA hip hop for the past few days.

In the tweet, Cassper posed a question as to how this all started. Even though he admitted that he remembers what led to all this excitement in SA hip hop, Mufasa did not reveal what exactly it is. Could it be him trying to take credit for creating the current mood in the game? “Hahaha. F**k!! I love this shit man!!! Kana how did all of this start again ??? Oh yeah… I remember. …..” Tweeted Cassper.

Following Cassper’s verse on Ooh Aah, the rapper claimed that he inspired everyone. In his verse, Cassper also addressed a subject that is prevalent in South African music by stating that hip hop is still alive. The verse says that the genre dies only when he says so. He asserted that without him, hip hop would not exist.

But it was when he mentioned that he had inspired other rappers that certainly got people’s attention. Mufasa went on and name-dropped Focalistic but the “Ke Star” chanter was not having any of it as he refuted Cassper’s claims via Instagram live.
