Yanga Speaks On How He Got Featured On AKA’s ‘Run Jozi’! Yanga has been in the SA Hip Hop industry for quite a while now.
The rapper started out as a videographer who worked on some of SA Hip Hop’s biggest music videos like Kwesta’s Boom Shakalaka and AKA’s Kontrol. He had been working on music but had not yet established his brand as a rapper but this allowed him into those spaces.
In a recent interview on the Sobering podcast, Yanga revealed that Run Jozi was actually the first song he worked on that was publicly released. He went on to speak about how being featured on a track Maraza did is what gave him the opportunity.
The rapper revealed that when AKA heard his verse on Alumni is when he asked him to help him work on his album (Levels). While they were working on Levels is when Yanga got the hook for Run Jozi which was his first hit.
