WATCH: Sjava Pays Tribute To Johnny Clegg Through Heartfelt Performance. On his recent visit to LIVE Amp Sjava used the opportunity to pay tribute to the late legendary star Johnny Clegg.
The performance was of the song the rapper specially wrote and sang for Clegg who passed away on the 16th of July 2019 due to Pancreatic Cancer. Sjava tapped into Maskandi sound accompanied with the band resembling Juluka (Johnny Clegg’s group).
The song goes, “Lala qhawe, thina siyayazi imisebenzi yakho, umhlaba uyakhala alwehlanga lungehlanga. Besekufike iskhathi, Jesse ngfuna wazi awujezi. Jaron qina nsizwa imply injalo,” read part of the lyrics.
