AKA Expresses Disinterest Of Mentoring Potential Artists

In a process of answering a few questions which were posed by BET Africa on his nomination at BET Awards AKA made it clear that he can never mentor any potential artist.

On Friday it AKA and Sho Madjozi were announced as the South African artists nominated for Best International Act at this year’s BET Awards set to take place on the 24th of June. BET Africa passed congratulatory on both stars and interviewed AKA via twitter where he answered a variety of questions including if he would ever mentor or manage any potential artist to which he answered “No, I don’t think so.

Here’s how the Q&A went about:

Q. What does this nomination mean to you?

A. It’s great to be recognized for my efforts over the last year. To me it means that after all these years, I’m still on that level and that’s really cool.

Q. Is there anything specific that you’re looking forward to at the #BETAwards?

A. I’m looking forward to representing my country and the continent on the world stage. Seeing some old friends and making new ones.

Q. Is there any other #BETAwards nominee that you would collaborate with?

A. Sho Madjozi. Definitely.

Q. Would you ever start a career in music management or mentorship to potential artists, since you’ve experienced so much in the industry?

A. Hmmmmm. I don’t think so.

Q. What has been your most memorable moment at the #BETAwards since you’ve experienced the growth of the channel?

A. Every single #BETAwards has been memorable for me. The whole experience is one of a kind. Let’s hope I can win one this time ?
