Record Label Owner Lance Stehr Reveals How Zola 7 Brought About His Own Demise. Not all business partnership ends well mostly with artists and record label owners, but according to the record label owner Lance Stehr, his relationship with Zola 7 ended in a good way because the Kwaito star did not leave empty-handed.

During an interview with MacG on Podcast and Chill, Lance revealed that Zola 7 had everything when he left the record label, from commercial deals with Cell C to the SABC 1 television show. “It’s very sad and I think that if there is anybody that had the biggest opportunity in the country like was given the biggest opportunity in the country that was Zola,” he said. “Zola was given everything when I say everything, the TV show, sim cards he had it all you know, he had it more than everything.”

Asked about what went wrong for Zola 7 from his own observation, Lance Stehr said, “I think fame is the worst drug like any other drug, fame is hard if you don’t know how to deal with fame you can f*ck your life up, fame and women, if you have that thing for women they will bring you down.”

When Lance was asked if his feud with Zola 7 was over money, the record label owner clarified that it wasn’t. “No it wasn’t money issues, where it started going wrong was there was a person who used to work in our office who Zola was having an affair with and she was a booking agent,” he said. “She was running a parallel company next to our company and we didn’t know about it and then when we uncovered that and found out we had to lay charges against her. So we lay criminal charges against her and Zola was like;” (“if you don’t drop those charges against the person in question I’m leaving,”) that’s when it started Lance,” said.

The famed record label owner went on and clarified that he did not pay any journalist to write ill about Zola 7 and there was no smear campaign against the Kwaito star. Lance also revealed that the reason why the Woof Woof chanter lost his Cell C deal was that he hit his girlfriend.

“The kind of allegations that he made was, I paid journalists, to write about him, I would like one journalist to come forward and say who, where have I paid,” he said. “You didn’t have to do a smear campaign against Zola, the reason why he lost a Cell C deal was that he beat up his girlfriend and pushed her through the window then he said I planted the girlfriend and I don’t know the f*cking girlfriend is,” he added.

On the assets that Zola 7 had when he parted ways with the record label, Lance Stehr said, “he had a production company, he had five houses, he was set up and he had the Cell C deal which was crazy which resulted in him owning a percentage of each sim card for life.”

“He had a clothing line which was in Edgars and the brand was second next to Madiba,” he said. With all the assets and the influence he had in Mzansi, Lance clarified that Zola 7 easily had the potential to be the first artist to become a billionaire. “Easily and It’s very sad because I think that it’s at that point that you, because you haven’t had money before and the money combined with fame, combined with everything else that it comes with, it comes with a lot of things,” he said.
