Zingah Sparks Debate Over The ‘Real’ SA Hip Hop Artist Of The Decade

Even though Cassper Nyovest won the award at the SA Hip Hop Awards last year, the artist of the decade debate doesn’t appear to be going away. Taking to Twitter, Zingah sparked the artist of the decade debate after he stated that K.O is the real Artist Of The Decade. “For the record, the real ARTIST of the decade is K.O.” Zingah tweeted.

The retired rapper’s tweet received numerous responses to his claim, with some of his followers agreeing with his notion whilst throwing in other names which are not K.O or Cassper Nyovest. Zingah went on and responded to one of the followers who stated K.O and AKA.

The rapper did not dispute the claim, as he stated that both rappers are close but K.O will always come out on top considering his catalogue throughout the Teargas days, CashTime Fam and CashTime Life. “It’s close between the two because of the Forbes catalog, but KO literally worked Teargas, Cashtime Fam, Cashtime Life and his solo. I don’t know who can mess with that.” Zingah stated.

Despite Zingah’s praise for K.O’s contributions to South African hip hop, NOTA has appeared as one of those who disagree that MrCashTime should be named artist of the decade. NOTA stated that K.O cannot be a better rapper than him as he refuted the artist of the decade’s praises. “Imagine him being a greater artist than me? Not a chance!” Tweeted NOTA.

K.O is one of the rappers who have been putting in the work in SA hip hop as he prepares to drop the long-awaited SR3 album. The rapper has dropped singles along the way, with the latest one SETE going gold in a space of 2 weeks.
