Zola 7 Responds To AKA’s Cheeky Remarks About How Every Artist In The Past Desired A Record Label Deal. Record label deals have been marred by numerous controversies, the majority of which have not served the interests of artists.
Taking to Twitter, AKA made a cheeky remark on how every artist was trying to get a record label deal. “Back in the days, everyone was trying to get a “record deal” … ha! Imagine.” Tweeted AKA. Responding to AKA’s tweet, Zola 7 stated that nothing has changed as he mentioned that there are artists who still have the desire to get record label deals.
The Kwaito legend asserted that he receives daily messages from artists asking him to sign them. “Nothing has changed. People are STILL trying to get record deals, I get DMs daily of artists wanting to me to sign them.” Tweeted Zola.
Zola 7 added that most of the artists out there are hungry for success and all they have is their talent and they will need the record label to enhance their craft and make something out of it. “Remember that when you are broke, all you have is your talent. No money for quality studios, mixing and mastering and submitting to radio stations feels like it’s all in vain. These artists are hungry for a chance to change their situation.” Tweeted Zola.
Zola 7 is one of the artists who has had issues with the record label. The Kwaito star claimed that Lance Stehr was out to destroy his music career. Zola alleged that the executives at the record label paid his baby mama to speak ill about him.
“I ended up in court at some time with this boy who by the way turned out to be working with Lance with one of my baby mamas,” he said. Responding to how his baby mama was trying to destroy him the rapper said; “uLance was paying them to (speak ill of me) because I had left the record company.”
