Nasty C Rethinks His Top 5 SA Rappers

Nasty C Rethinks His Top 5 SA Rappers. Being the best in the hip-hop game does not conclude that you don’t have other rappers that you look up to. Nasty C is one of the artists who has always had SA rappers whom he has been hero-worshipping throughout his career.

Taking to Instagram, Nasty C shared images of 5 SA rappers who have been labelled veterans of the game in terms of their music catalogues, business deals and longevity. On his list of pictures, Nasty C shared AKA as the first one, followed by Stogie T with K.O. coming out as the third. Cassper Nyovest and Da L.E.S completed the list of the Hell Naw hitmaker’s top 5 SA rappers.

In an interview with SA Hip Hop Mag, the rapper shared the SA rappers whom he looks up to and the likes of K.O. and AKA made it to the list. “This is purely based off the people I grew up on and the people that when they drop songs I listen to them and go, ‘F***, I need to go back and write’. It’s people like AKA, of course. Maggz, at a point. Definitely Proverb, 100%. There was a point where I was listening to a lot of Mr Selwyn, I don’t know what happened to him. And K.O. has to be there, for sure.”

In his first list, Nasty C did not include Cassper Nyovest and when he was asked the reason, he said; “Never really been in my top 5 rappers, but like, as a musician, he’s definitely up there. Musician, businessman, definitely up there.”

Recently, the Durban native rapper has been topping the trends following his No Big Deal freestyle where he addressed issues including his beef with A-Reece and Sarkodie. The rapper admitted that addressing his issues with Sarkodie on a song was the most childish thing.

“Like I said I wasn’t being mature about it, I was being childish about it,” he said. “The way I was going about it was like very childish, I was emotional about it and when you’re like that you want to make someone feel that pain, you want to make someone feel like wait is this guy snubbing me type of thing, you want them to feel that,” he said.
