SA Rappers Who Failed To Deliver Their Music Projects In 2022
SA Rappers Who Failed To Deliver Their Music Projects In 2022. As we approach the conclusion of 2022, there has been a significant amount of activity in the South African hip-hop scene. The game lost big-name rappers, but the music is what keeps the game alive, with fresh songs released from experienced rappers to rookie Clusters.
The game has been flooded with glowing output from many rappers when it comes to music with most of them going all the way to drop music albums. The likes of K.O. and Kwesta served the game with a body of works but there are also some of the big-name rappers who failed to deliver. On that note, we are going to share with you some of your favourite rappers who failed to live up to their expectations.
Emtee
Emtee’s contribution to culture this year earned him a ranking of number 7 on the MTV Base Hottest MCs 2022 list. Due to the rating, the rapper received a lot of backlash from hip-hop fans who disagreed that The Hustler deserved to be on the list. Emtee remained relevant this year by hooping on features, not for his own music and not mentioning an album release from him. The Emtee Records boss is currently working on the DIY 3 album which he was supposed to release this year.
Nasty C
Despite dropping the Ivyson Army Mixtape, Nasty has failed to deliver as per his promise. The rapper has mentioned in some of the interviews he did that he would be dropping 3 music projects this year. “I’ve got a couple of projects that are coming out this year, you could expect about 3 projects from me, tapes and albums,” he said. As per his words, Nasty C was heard saying that the album was ready and is only left with the selection process. However, the rapper stated that he will be dropping his body of work next year.
Ntukza
Ntukza has been making headlines lately following his tell-all interview with SA Hip Hop Mag. The rapper revealed how he was thrown under the bus by former teammates K.O. and Ma-E. Recently, the former Teargas member revealed that he is aiming to drop new music this year. The rapper went on and made a change of plan stating that he will be dropping the new music next year. “Had a meeting, my Ep was pushed back for next year, stay patient it’s coming beginning of 2023 #Shalom,” he tweeted.
Zoocci Coke Dope
Following the release of his album Anxiety +, Zoocci Coke Dope proved yet again how good he is at merging both the sound and the bars as came out with a completely exciting project. Soon after the release of his project, the rapper took to Twitter and mentioned that he will be dropping another project this year. “ANOTHER PROJECT COMING THIS YEAR,” he tweeted. As we are about to close off the year 2022, the rapper is yet to deliver as per his promise.
Boity
Following her long music hiatus, Boity said in an interview with TshisaLIVE that she is now ready to drop new music. Since the interview, the Wuz Dat chanter is yet to give her fans to smile about as we heard towards the end of 2022.
“I’ve been gigging … not as much as I should be, but I think I’ve taken a step back because I’ve really want to work on a project and I’m ready to present new work, new material to my followers because they are like ‘we want more music’. And I know and I’m just like ‘oh God when I get there I will’ and I think that’s when I will start taking more gigs again properly and start reflourishing my music career.” Boity said.
