K.O’s SETE Extends Its Dominance Into 2023. K.O. ended the argument about which song would go all the way and win song of the year in 2022. Sete’s success is a reminder of who the veteran rapper truly is and what he is capable of owing to his flexibility and longevity in the industry.

Heading into the New Year, the lead single for the SR3 album is still dominating the charts as it maintains its glory at the summit of the radio charts. Taking to Instagram, the radio monitoring service in South Africa announced that the single has become the first number 1 heading towards the first weekend of 2023.

This led to the track occupying the number 1 spot on the radio for 18 consecutive weeks across 70 radio stations. “The first No.1 of 2023 is the record breaker from 2022 – 18 consecutive weeks in the top position. This week with 380 spins, 40.2m impacts across 70 radio stations #radiomonitorsa,” read the post.

With Sete setting the bar very high already in 2023, the veteran rapper will be looking forward to maintaining the dominance with new music. In an interview with SA Hip Hop Mag towards the end of last year, the rapper stated that he is not getting carried away with the dominance of Sete as he is already working on new music.

The rapper did not provide much intel about the project. He did state that the project is not part of the Skhanda Republic series and it will be under a different name.  “It won’t be part of those Skhanda Republic series, it will be probably a different title I don’t think I’m gonna revisit SR,” he said.

 “Now it’s just for me to just continue building seeing where the canvas takes me and you might even get more afrobeat out of me man.”
