Taking to Twitter, the former Teargas member stated that YouTube views and follows are not sufficient support to artists. The rapper emphasized that fans must spend real money in support of their favourite artist. “I’ve said this a million times on here, follows & YouTube views mean nothing. Zero. If you’re a fan, cough up some money to show support,” he tweeted.

To justify his claims, Ntukza went on and shared how best fans can support their favourite artists besides YouTube views. The rapper said fans must spend money on artists’ merchandise and following them to their live shows since social media follow and YouTube doesn’t count.

You can’t log on to YouTube to add 1 view to your favourite artist & just like that, you’ve supported. No.. This is support: Go to shows, SMS for them, Buy their merchandise etc. Following them for free & watching their video for free doesn’t count,” he added in a tweet.

Ntukza has been very active in engaging with his fans. The veteran rapper was supposed to have dropped new music towards the end of last year, but he decided to make a U-turn. He said that the postponement will give the EP the power to reach the target audiences.

“I believe my Ep being pushed back will give it more strength to reach where it needs to when it initially comes out. Sorry for inconvenience to all die hards, sobuya ngamandla!” He tweeted.
