AKA and Cassper have been at the top of the hip-hop game for more than a decade, and their rivalry for bragging rights kept the SA hip-hop discourse going. The passing away of AKA did not only hurt the Megacy fanbase, but Cassper Nyovest also expressed his grief for losing a friend and a hip-hop rivalry.

Taking to Twitter, Cassper urged his known as Tsibipians to send love to the fans and family of AKA. The rapper pleaded with his fans to practice humanity affirming that the country is mourning. “To all my fans, pls send all your love to the Megacy and family. The nation is mourning & could use more love and less evil.” He tweeted.

AKA was assassinated outside a renowned restaurant in Durban on Friday evening, along with his close friend, wine businessman and novelist Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane. After learning about the tragic passing away of his longtime rivalry, Cassper took to Twitter on Sunday and expressed his condolences.

“My sincere condolences go out to Kiernan and Tebello’s families, colleagues and fans. May their souls rest in peace and their legacies be celebrated. May the good Lord be with all of you at this sad time,” he wrote.

Since breaking into the game over a decade ago, AKA has been regarded as one of South Africa’s top rappers, producing and penning several hit songs such as Fela In Versace, Run Jozi and others.
