Emtee Affirms AKA Launched His Music Career
Emtee Affirms AKA Launched His Music Career. Emtee might be one of the best SA rappers to date, but the Roll Up hitmaker owes his successful career to other fellow rappers.
Taking to Twitter, Emtee admitted that the slain fellow rapper AKA was the one who gave him a career boost at a time when no one believed in him. “Everybody looked down on me cos I was poor till I got AKA on a song,” tweeted Emtee.
Emtee released the smash song ‘Roll Up’ in 2015, which quickly became a national anthem. Ever since the release of Roll Up the rapper’s career hit a massive climb. The remix which he featured AKA and Wizkid made SA hip-hop fans appreciate his musical prowess.
SA hip-hop fans who have followed Emtee’s reputation grew over the years are in completely agreed that AKA was the one who gave him a lift in a competitive field where everyone is out for themselves. The passing away of AKA has left a massive void in the SA hip-hop community and the late rapper himself has once asserted that “imagine South Africa without AKA,” now that he is gone, the hip-hop game will have to endure without the rapper presence.
Emtee is also terrified because, as he recently acknowledged, he has been getting death threats. The rapper is eager to increase his protection since threats indicate that DJ Sumbody’s death would be followed by his assassination. “Yes for 2 years now. Apparently I’m next,” he tweeted.
