Gigi Lamayne Makes It To The List Of Top 25 Most Influential Women In 2020 After Battling Depression. Rap artist and philanthropist Gigi Lamayne is one of many young people to come close to death because of depression, luckily for pleasurable escapes others survive.

Lamayne almost lost her life back in 2017 when she attempted committing suicide due to depression. At the time she was signed at Ambitiouz Entertainment stable. She expressed later on that her childhood experiences with her father has always led to her mental state turning her weak.

“When I was in high school, my mother was diagnosed with cancer and was in need of around-the-clock care. After my parents’ divorce, I was left to be the sole caretaker and often found myself having to attend school with no lunch or textbooks.

“My father’s outbursts sometimes caused us to fear for our lives when he threatened to shoot us with his gun. To this day, my relationship with my father remains strained,” said Gigi.

In the process of healing from the ordeal Gigi decided to bounce back hard to with her music. Not only did she grow musically and released banging tunes, but she contributed greatly to SA Hip Hop and society at large. The rapper created employmeunt opportunities, dropped her debut EP Job Woods, scooped an international feature and established a first ever one woman show Gigi Gang Show which gave rise to the women in Hip hop.

For all that she has done she was recognized by the country and was placed at number 10 as one of the 25 most influential women in 2020. It may have been a rough year but others thrived to make best of the little they could, the Boss Zonke star proved so.

“Went from Depression to top 25 most Influential women of 2020 at number 10. You can do it, keep going,” she wrote encouraging fans.
