Kwesta Explains How It Felt To Be The First Person To Inform Yanga Chief About AKA’s Death

Speaking during the interview on PopCast Podcast, Kwesta revealed that he was the first person to break the news to one of AKA’s close friends Yanga Chief. The father of two admitted that it was a terrible time for him because he didn’t know how to handle Yanga’s reaction to the news because he assumed he already knew.

“The only other person i called after hearing about Kiernan was Yanga and i wanted an explanation of sorts of what do you know and he just found out from me,” he said. “Which is a terrible thing right because when you asking the questions you realise that this person doesnt know the f*ck you’re talking about. Now you have to sort of treat the conversation differently. It immideiately changes because now you’re bearing this news.” Said Kwesta.

Not only was he an industry friend, but Yanga Chief was like a brother to AKA and the two would share their personal stories together. The Utatakho hitmaker is amongst the people who were close to Kiernan who are still coming to terms with the rapper’s passing.

In a recent Instagram post, the rapper expressed how it feels to live life without AKA while challenging the police to do their job and apprehend those responsible for AKA and Tibz’s deaths. “It’s so boring without you Pah. Ima just keep it a buck. Every day I lose more faith that justice will be served. SAPS please don’t F this up. #JusticeForAKA (can’t even believe such a tag exits). Let’s keep praying for the family and loved ones. It’s not over,” Yanga said.
