Zakwe Opens Up On Why He Is Taking A Music Hiatus. Zakwe’s strong voice and heavy punchlines of township stories have made him one of the best South African rappers to come out of Kwazulu Natal.
The rapper’s genuine sense of uniqueness has propelled him to a massive following, with the majority of South African hip-hop fans resonating with the message in his music. Even though he has been extremely involved in the game, the rapper has stated that he is now taking a break.
Taking to Twitter, Zakwe began by thanking his fans for being inspired by his music. The rapper expressed pride in seeing young people motivated to attend school as a result of his music. “crazy how it’s only now, I get to understand the impact I had when I got in the game. posting a song, ubone umuntu ethi, ‘this got me going eHigh School’, abanye bathi ‘nayi ingoma eyangenza ngaqala ukurepha’. cha, kushuthi umuntu udumo akaze lumuhlanyise, which is good and bad.” He tweeted.
The rapper went and acknowledged the love and support even though his spirit of music is down. The rapper said he is going to release a music project but he is currently not motivated to release any music he promised to be back in the studio.

Beginning as an underground rapper, Zakwe put out a number of street music-themed mixtapes that were composed of songs in various dialects. The rapper has released five studio albums over his musical career, and he has won four music awards, including the Best Lyricist Award at the first South African Hip Hop Awards in 2012.
