Ambitiouz Entertainment Defends Its Decision To Release Blaq Diamond’s Danya Devs’ New Album
Ambitiouz Entertainment Defends Its Decision To Release Blaq Diamond’s Danya Devs’ New Album. Some may consider Ambitiouz Entertainment’s treatment of unsatisfied musicians to be petty, but the record label sees it as the ethical thing to do.
Recently, the record company made headlines once more when they released Blaq Diamond’s Danya Dev’s album ahead of schedule. Taking to Twitter, Ambitiouz Entertainment argued that their recent move is justified. This came after the record label accused Blaq Diamond of stealing the song Qoma which was recorded in 2020 when the duo was still at Ambitiouz.
Ambitiouz Entertainment stated in a tweet that they will not fold their hands and allow artists to steal from them. This is to say that any music for which they own the masters they will release it. “Qoma was recorded in 2020 and released as a “NEW” song by Blaq Diamond … we suppose to just fold our arms and take it because artists are always right? These people are stealing songs we paid for and present them as new… If we own a master, we WILL release it.” Tweeted Ambitiouz Entertainment.
Ambitiouz Entertainment previously made it clear that their agreement with Blaq Diamond was to release three albums. The record label also indicated that Blaq Diamond’s contract was supposed to be cancelled after the completion of the agreed-upon album releases. However, that has not been completed since the duo’s departure.
“In terms of their contracts, the artists were supposed to be booked for their gigs via the label and release three albums before their contracts could end,” a part of the letter reads as quoted by SundayWorld.
