K.O Congratulates AKA’s Metro FM Music Awards Triumph Following “SETE” Snub
K.O Congratulates AKA’s Metro FM Music Awards Triumph Following “SETE” Snub. It was business as usual as the 17th Metro FM Music Awards delivered what was dubbed a lacklustre award ceremony.
Despite the unfavourable press surrounding the award ceremony, AKA‘s Megacy remained focused on the prize, anticipating a significant awards swoop on the night for their iconic late rapper. The Supa Mega won four Metro awards out of six nominations at the event that took place in Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga.
AKA won the Best Collaboration, Best Hip-Hop Album, Best Male Artist and Best Artist of The Year awards. AKA and K.O, two seasoned hip-hop acts, faced up in a number of the biggest categories in the lead-up to the awards. Only AKA had the upper hand to come out as the victor. His relentless Megacy fanbase took it upon themselves and voted in their numbers for AKA to have his last Metro FM Award triumphant exit.
Taking to Twitter, K.O who was a close ally and a competitor in SA Hip hop congratulated the slain rapper for a victorious night in Mbombela. K.O affirmed in a post that AKA’s legacy will live forever as he dubbed him the Greatest Of All Time. K.O also congratulated AKA’s Megacy. “My dawg Kiernan AKA Forbes 🐐 Your legacy is eternal ❤️🙏🏾 Congrats to the megacy,” 💫 tweeted K.O.
Given “Sete’s” record-breaking run, it was anticipated that K.O would easily win but the rapper left empty-handed. The Metro FM Awards had its own way of delivering yet another surprise as K.O fell short of Betusile Mcinga’s gospel song titled Ngena Noah for the song of the year award. As if that was not enough, the Skhanda World boss also lost the Best Collaboration Award to AKA and Nasty C’s Lemons Lemonade.
