Is Gangster Rap Alive In SA Hip Hop? Gangstar rap was big in the States in the early 9o’s, but it is slowly dying these days.  Was it ever alive in SA Hip Hop?

Youngsta Cpt claims he is the one who started gangster rap in the country.  He is from the West Kaap where the most hardcore gangsters live so he knows the gangster life more than any rapper in the game.  But did he start gangster rap in SA Hip Hop?

Besides him, I don’t see any rapper that does gangster rap and not one that ever did it comes to mind.  So he might be right.
