Dee Koala Reacts To “Gwan” Music Video Hitting Significant YouTube Milestone. Dee Koala has been recently putting in the work as she aims to propel her rap career to the top. The Cape Town-based rapper has collaborated with a handful of reputable SA rappers and one of them is Maglera Doe Boy.
The two joined forces on the song titled Gwan which has attracted many SA hip-hop followers. Taking to Twitter, Dee expressed her excitement after the music video reached over 500K YouTube views.
“Gwan (Official Music Video) ft. @MagleraDoeBoy has reached 500 000+ Youtube views in 3 months! Thank you for the support, keep streaming and watching https://youtu.be/UqUxe0datWg,” tweeted Dee Koala. Dee said during an interview that the song was supposed to have been Maglera’s but it ended up being hers after she laid out the verse and hook.
“Our relationship is so cool because it doesn’t feel like owing or favours it, it’s just fun like that. It keeps us on our toes, which is why he and I have such a cool relationship. So he laced his verse, I didn’t put a verse, then I went home, things happened.” She said during her Popcast interview with Ms Cosmo.
With all the hype that was created on Gwan, the song still took two years to complete. Dee Koala said that she was taking her time with her verse despite the pressure to release from the fans. “I couldn’t rush putting the verse on and people were like ‘Where’s Gwan, is it still a thing, is it going to drop?’ And I was like eish I kind of need to give them ‘Gwan’ ’cause I thought I was gonna keep it there,” Dee Koala added.
