Jay Jody Shares Two Of His Favorite AKA Songs
Jay Jody Shares Two Of His Favorite AKA Songs. He may be gone, but the music and impact AKA had on South African hip-hop and African music, in general, will live on in the Music Hall Of Fame.
AKA had an elitist following in Mzansi and abroad, and the Supa Mega was respected by some of his fellow SA rappers. Taking to Twitter, Jay Jody shared two of his favourite AKA songs praising the way the late rapper used to make his music.
Taking from Jody’s post, the rapper shared screenshots of Sweet Fire and One Time. “We don’t talk enough about how dope this man was when he got in his melodic bag over these retro funk synth wave type beats. The songwriting was solid too. ✍🏾 The AKA x Master A Flat combo was so dangerous. I f*ck with this sound heavy!” Tweeted Jay Jody.
AKA was murdered outside the Wish Restaurant in Durban along with his friend Tibz. The rapper, however, passed away whilst he was working on the Mass Country album which he did not live to see its ongoing success.
With Mass Country still making waves, the Fela In Versace hitmaker also left a slew of unreleased music in the vault. As if that is not enough, AKA was working on a collaborative album with K.O and the two was ready to roll the good old times when they dropped God’s Will and Run Jozi. With the devastation surrounding AKA, K.O made it clear that he will still release the single he worked on with his fellow late rapper and he will only drop it when the time is right.
