In a recent development, US rapper Gunna released a new track titled Fukumean which borrows Sho Madjozi’s hit single Huku. The innovative mash-up of sounds in the track has generated excitement on social media, demonstrating the expanding impact of SA music all over the world.

The original song Huku by Sho Madjozi was a massive hit upon its release 5 years ago and it has dominated the music DSPs and it’s currently sitting on 12 Million YouTube views. Sho Madjozi has not kept her foot off the gas as she keeps on dabbling into different sounds that represent her African.

Recently, the John Cena hitmaker dabbled into the Yanos sound with a brand new track titled Balloteli featuring the multi-talented Robot Boii, Sneakbo and Matthew Otis. The rapper recently shared a  funny video on Instagram along with her collaborators in promotion of the new release and it has attracted a good reception amongst her fans.

Not only has she managed to tell her story through music, but Sho Madjozi also took time to align herself with the young kids following the release of her book Shoma and the Stars. In celebration of her success as an artist, the Limpopo-born-rapper celebrated 31 years by hosting a lavish and African-themed birthday party. The celebration was graced by her industry friends from different African countries all in a bid to express her pride in being a complete African who is out there to tell the unfiltered African story.
