“Let me breakdown Igazi, linyembezi Nombilo, the Igazi section was inspired by the fact that I come from a broken family,” he said. “I didn’t have a dope relationship with my mother, I have distant relatives, I’m one of the kids that feel like they raised themselves up, like in all of that.”
The rapper continued by explaining the meaning of the linyembezi concept, saying it was motivated by the moment he had his first-ever joyful tears, which he defined as his breakthrough moment. “linyembezi is inspired by the fact that for the first time, I cried tears of joy, at some point, I even run dry of tears I couldn’t cry anymore. But this year I cried Iinyembezi and it really felt like its a breakthrough,” he said.
He added; “umbilo is all the sacrifices my friends and I did together fully, everybody that’s around me, the entourage. These are the friends I grew up with, we have been sleeping at taxi ranks in town, right now it’s paying off, it’s all the sweat,” Bravo Le Roux said.
Amidst the sombre tones, “Igazi, Iinyembezi Nombilo” also celebrates love, joy, and the simple pleasures of life. Bravo Le Roux‘s expressive voice adds a touch of warmth to tracks such as Umuntu, serving as a reminder to cherish moments of happiness, no matter how fleeting they may be.
