Dee Koala Claims The Throne As The Queen Of SA Hip-hop
Dee Koala Claims The Throne As The Queen Of SA Hip-hop. SA Hip-hop has been graced with a slew of brilliant female rappers and some have contributed to the culture for over a decade.
However, with that in mind, the fast-rising rapper Dee Koala made a bold declaration stating that she is the Queen of SA Hip-hop. Taking to her social media platforms, the Cape Town-based rapper recounted an impressive array of accomplishments she has achieved in a relatively brief span, thus substantiating her claim as the foremost female rapper in South Africa.
“Booked & Busy, that’s my motto 😤 With only one album (2019) and three singles released so far, I have over one million all-time streams on Apple Music and over one million Spotify streams in the past 12 months.” A self-esteemed Dee Koala said.
“About ten active local and global brand campaigns this year across various industries, from clothing to FMCG products. I’m one of the most endorsed young artists in the country. Television commercials, voiceovers, and billboards, in over 30 physical stores nationwide, I’m everywhere.
“No music videos without a sponsor since 2020, all creative directed by myself. My third annual event @4thekhaltsha has two headline sponsors and will be hosted for two days this year. Performing nationwide, from general gigs to major festivals. My music aging like fine wine, killed my features. Over 10 sync deals. I am Dee Koala and I am the Queen of South African Hip Hop.” Dee Koala added.
While the title of “Queen of SA Hip Hop” is subjective and open to interpretation, one thing is clear: Dee Koala’s ambition and talent are undeniable. Whether or not she will eventually claim the crown officially remains to be seen, but her declaration has undeniably stirred up excitement and anticipation within the SA Hip-hop community.
